VIDYARAMBHAM – “The beginning of Learning” encompasses and transcends various cultural, social and religious acceptances. Barriers are broken at the portals of education. Vidyarambham 2010 got off to a colorful start in all the fourteen A Schools in Chennai on the Eighteenth day of October 2010. The program was organized along with Education Times. On the auspicious day it was delightful to see the children along with their parents stepping into the School. The emotions were mixed parents were anxious, children exhibited emotions that ranged from joy to fear, confidence to uncertainty. The staff cheerfully extended them a warm welcome.  Distinguished personalities graciously accepted the invitation and were the Chief Guest’s for the function.

DIGNITARIES WHO GRACED THE OCCASSION

At all the A Schools the function began with the Administrators welcoming the Chief guests the parents and their children. This was followed by the traditional lighting of the ‘kuthuvilakku’. The light that dispels darkness began to shine on all the participants of the function. The eminent personalities shared from their reservoir of knowledge. Then came the defining moment that would be etched in the minds and hearts of the parents. The hands that wield power, the epitome of knowledge, brought forth lives, and brought laurels in many spheres of excellence held the hands of the tiny tots and initiated them into their first process of learning. The process of writing on paddy grains spread on plantain leaf. This concept of writing which is a pointer to acquiring knowledge and prosperity hitherto was confined in temples and homes. A School has pioneered and has been a trendsetter while applying this process in the initiation of children into education. This was also symbolic of the transference of the blessings of renowned personalities to the toddlers. The parents were overwhelmed and their joy knew no bounds.

EXCERPTS OF ADDRESS DELIVERED BY THE CHIEF GUESTS

Dr. P.Mannar Jawahar Vice Chancellor Anna University in his address to the gathering appreciated the efforts of the Founder Mr. Annamalai in introducing value added education to toddlers and young children. He was appreciative of the tools and techniques that are employed to improve the hand-eye co ordination as well as the dexterity of a child and the process involved in storytelling, a concept that improves the Meta cognitive faculty of the children. He also requested the parents to be innovative in while bringing up their children in their formative years.

Ms. Lethika Saran I.P.S Director General of Police extolled the need for a stress free environment both at home and school to allow the child to make the right choice while studying. She emphasized the need for play by method that has a long lasting impression and thereby what they have learned will be etched in their memory in the years to come.

Dr. Ms. Kamala Selvaraj Obstetrician and Gynecologist spoke of the excellent facilities that were offered to the children at such a small age. She opined that it yoga and meditation classes for children would have tremendous impact on their lives while they go through the process of learning

IMPRESSION OF THE PARENTS

All the parents were absolutely thrilled when they saw that their children would be beginning their process of learning in one of the finest school.  They had the conviction that their children were in the hands of guides who have undergone meticulous training in various aspects of child psychology and the innovative training methodology. The parents did spend their time and effort but left A School convinced that they had not spent anything but have invested in their child’s future.
